This Black Poplar tree (poplus nigra) was growing on the side Stratford upon Avon golf course until it had to be felled due to having been infected with Honey Fungus which kills the roots. My favourite tree surgeon was tasked withthe job of removing it. he knew I would be. interested in it and brought me two large logs of which this is a small piece. It has a crazy amount of figure, the soft eyes in the burr have been filled with holographic epoxy making a feature of them. It has been finished with several coats of eco-friendly waterborne gloss lacquer which requires no maintenance. The Hornbeam lid has a hand cut 12tpi thread ensuring a secure closure. It has a capacity of 600ml (20 fl oz) and measures 100mm H x 140mm D (4" H x 5 ½" D)
